Negative Effects of Anger Upon Children
The Following is an Excerpt from our Book, Angry Without a Cause (Click Here to Order).
One thing that I love about little children is that they will seemingly believe anything. You could tell your children that pigs live on the moon, and they would probably believe it since, up to the age of about four or five, all they really know about life is Mommy and Daddy and their toys. In their minds, we are the biggest, the strongest, and the smartest people they know.
It must also be understood, on the other hand, that a parent can abuse this trust. In other words, parents that are often frustrated and furious with their children do not realize that they are planting subtle thoughts within their minds. To be more precise, their children will eventually start to BELIEVE that they are as LOW and INSIGNIFICANT as they FEEL when their parents are angry at them. Eventually, their minds will succumb to the silent, yet destructive messages that their feelings of inferiority are sending to them; hence, if it is your custom to regularly use hot demands, sarcastic remarks, temper tantrums, and frustrated phrases as a form of control over your children, you will not produce the healthy, well-balanced children that, deep down, you desire to have.
