What Every Great Marriage Has (Key to a Great Marriage)
Forgiveness. That’s right. Forgiveness.
You see, the couple that you see across the church auditorium or at the local PTA meeting that seems to have such a wonderful marriage, only has one because forgiveness has been a key element in their marriage. Forgiveness has kept them out of the cycle of resentment and it has allowed them to avoid spats that lead to fights that eventually lead to separation.
Conflict is actually normal and unavoidable. The difference between a good marriage and a bad marriage is that the happily married couple takes the knife of conflict by the handle instead of the blade. They mince their conflict with open and honest communication, self-control, Biblical concepts, and, of course, forgiveness.
If you are currently having marital issues, I must say that the bridge to a better and more intimate relationship with one another will have to include a “plank of forgiveness”, but, rest assured, forgiveness alone is not quite enough. You will have to add a few more things to your life and your relationship skills.
